It’s been a glorious weekend, with wide blue skies, a light breeze and everything in the garden growing fast, including the weeds.  I’m not a sun worshiper, so used the weekend to give our kitchen and bathroom a facelift.  It’s amazing what a change in colour can do.  I don’t know if it was the beautiful sky or the imminent arrival of my friend Gaby of Moobaacluck, but I decided to paint the kitchen blue.  As per usual, I mixed the paint myself, to a shade somewhere between, sky, turquoise and duck egg.

I already have one wall painted in a deep cherry red, and have quite a few red accessories in the kitchen to offset the almost retro blue.

The finished room looks fresh and bright through the day and soft and chalky in the evening with the lights dimmed and a glass of something red.

All that’s missing is the cakes…..which will be rectified in the next couple of days, once the bathroom is finished.

Meanwhile out in the garden the flowers have been bursting to open out their petals and bask in the heat.
